Happy Halloween!
Last night we tried on Isaac's costume for Halloween. He loved his "Bee" costume and even made the appropriate buzzing sound effects. One thing he didn't like was that the pants have a little "stinger" on the backside. He kept grabbing at it and trying to pull it off. Hopefully during trick-or-treating we can distract him with the candy so that he forgets all about his little stinger...

Is it Friday yet???
I just wanted to post a couple of pictures that I took of Isaac last night. It's been a pretty quiet week here and the weather has been unseasonable warm for the end of October. Tomorrow is Halloween and I think that the "bee" costume I got for Isaac may be too warm for him to wear out trick-or-treating!

This is Isaac "helping" to open the garage door. Look how strong he is!

"Counting" the pumkins. He was pointing out to me which one was the "little" one and which one was the "big" one.

Weekend update
We had a pretty low-key weekend here at the Nap household. We're still busy moving things back down to our now finished basement. It's really nice to get all that stuff out of the garage. John finished painting the baby's room - I'm sure he's happy to not have me asking when he is going to finish it anymore! :-)
Some interesting campaign news...John has had a near run-in with both candidates this weekend. On Friday he met McCain's motorcade on the highway on his way home from a meeting in Aurora. Yesterday he met Obama's motorcade on the highway on his way back from a dog-training session. Last night he went over to his office to pick up some paperwork and called me a few minutes later - Obama was at the Democratic Party office right next to his office. It's a little strange to have an armoured motorcade and Secret Service agents here in our little sleepy town! Anyway - we don't often make the national news - so here's the link if you want to check it out!

Morning mountain view
John has been traveling this week - luckily he got back last night! He usually takes Isaac to daycare in the mornings, but since he was gone, I got to get up early and do that routine. One benefit - the great morning view of the mountains! Other than sunset - I like the view best at this time of day. Check out all the snow!

Big boy & baby toys
We are slowing getting everything moved from it's temporary location in the garage back down to the basement. Last night I was cleaning up some of Isaac's old baby toys in preparation for the new arrival. I was taking the soft seating off the walker, swing, etc. so that I could wash them. Isaac has taken quite an interest in these "baby toys" that he has forgotten about. After I took the seat out of the walker he climbed inside and pushed that thing all over the basement. He probably had more fun with it then when he used it as a baby! Oh - and the photo of the gate is the new entrance to our basement. We took the door off the hinges and installed this supposedly "childproof" gate. All I know is that we were down in the basement one minute - and the next minute I heard him at the top of the stairs - he had figured out how to open and close the gate! (or maybe he crawled over it? Doubtful!)

Pumpkins!
This weekend we went to a local pumpkin patch to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and pick out some pumpkins. Cindy, Jackie, Trey and Brody joined us and the boys had a great time riding in the trailer behind the tractor, finding their way through the hay bale maze, and chasing the barnyard chickens! I've uploaded some more photos to the slideshow at the top of the page - so click on that to see the rest of the pics.

30 weeks down...9 to go!
Today we had our 30 week appointment with the doctor. Since I'm going to deliver at 39 weeks (unless the baby decides otherwise!) that means there's only 9 weeks left to go. I realize that's just over 2 months - but it still seems like it's almost here already!
The appointment went well - just the usual blood pressure check and baby's heartrate check - which were all great. I found out that my iron is a little low, but that's not a big surprise since it was with Isaac as well. It just means I have to start taking another pill.
So for the next month or so we have to go back to the doctor every two weeks and then it's down to the weekly visits! The baby will be here before we know it!
On another note - our basement is finally finished! Woohooo!!! (Now John can start painting the nursery! :-)

Construction - end of week 8
Well - it's been 8 weeks of workers in and out of the house...we are not quite at the end, but we can see it! We had the final inspection today and the inspector found a couple of items to be fixed before we get the final ok. So - hopefully everything will be wrapped up next week. We can't wait to get this project done!

Construction - end of week 7
I'm a little behind in posting the photos of the construction progress for week 7...the workers were still here when we left for our weekend trip last Friday. As you can see - we're beginning to see the end of the project. Most of the ceiling tile and electrical is done and the carpet is supposed to be going in today. Our contractor tells us we should have our final inspection at the end of this week. Yeah!!!

Purple Pride
This weekend we made a quick trip back to Kansas to visit family and cheer on the Cats at a K-State football game. Unfortunately K-State lost terribly to Texas Tech, but we still had a great time tailgating with family & friends.

This wasn't the real score...the scoreboard operator must've had too many beers...

Isaac learning how to kick the football with my cousin Nicole and her boyfriend Eric

Me with my niece Finley (Grant & Amber's little girl)...look at those cheeks!
